Training & Coaching Junior Handlers to Reach Their Highest Potential from the Inside Out
As one of the top ranking professional handlers in the country with over 30 years of experience in the sport, Kelly Lyn Marquis, is uniquely qualified to offer training, coaching and educational programming for passionate junior handlers.
Much time and effort is placed on learning the how-to, hands-on aspects of handling a dog, but little education addresses the mental and emotional requirements of dog handling. No matter how good you are at placing your dogs feet, or running around in a circle, if you don’t have mental fortitude, you will not rise to the top. I teach kids what they need to know and how they need to manage their energy and themselves in order to achieve greatness in the dog show world. My mindset coaching trains you from the inside out. My workshops help teach kids what they will need to know in order to stand strong and be prepared to step into the world as a professional dog show handler.

- I will offer feedback as to how I feel you may improve
What you will need:
- Access to a computer or phone
- The ability to record you working your dog
- An area to work your dog that allows you to move your dog and provides a proper surface for your dog to function and perform the required tasks.

Junior Handlers – Mindset Coaching for Junior Handlers
Mindset Coaching for Junior Handlers
In mind-set coaching, I coach you in any areas that involves mental preparation and fortitude to navigate the dog show world. Although there is a lot of information teaching the mechanics of how to show a dog, there is very little available to kids teaching them how to navigate the mental and emotional requirements of being a successful dog show handler. Dog showing is a highly competitive industry. When we don’t help kids prepare mentally, it’s like sending a lamb into the lion’s den. I coach junior handlers through many of the typical struggles and challenges such as: peer pressure, setting healthy boundaries with parents, peers and others, navigating wins and losses, eliminating destructive self-talk, establishes healthy goals, and/or creating healthy support systems.
With me by your junior handler’s side, you have a strong wise guide that understands the territory and the challenges your child is facing. I also know how much this means to your child. For those of us that love dog showing it is our whole world… and the rest of the world doesn’t get that. I do!
