Best Junior Handler at Westminster Kennel Club | Reserve Best In Show at Westminister, two years in a row | Number One Dog in the country | Many National Specialty Winners | Over 250 Best In Shows.”
“My love for dogs started long before I attended my first dog show. My grandma watched me a lot as a child, as my parents worked full time jobs. Grandma bred, taught obedience and showed in confirmation with her Miniature Schnauzers. At the age of seven, I showed my first dog and was hooked! I assisted Jeff and Lori Wilson (Paust) for many years and started showing in Junior Showmanship when I was ten years old. I made a deal with my parents that I’d get good grades and stay on the honor roll if I could go to dog shows almost every weekend. Grandma and I traveled the Midwest together, and she still is my biggest supporter! In 2004, I was awarded Best Junior Handler at Westminster Kennel Club with my miniature wire haired dachshund, Elmo. I relocated to Pennsylvania shortly after to work for Andrew Doyle. His sudden passing forced me to make a decision and I choose to be a professional handler at age twenty-two. Three years ago, I married Adam Bernardin. We merged our two businesses and have been pretty successful together. We’ve grown together, and are better and stronger as a team. Together we won Reserve Best In Show at Westminister two years in a row, handled many top dogs, including the Number One Dog in the country, many National Specialty Winners, and over 250 Best In shows together.”
About Meet the ProfessionalS
Meet the Professionals for Junior Handlers is a monthly webinar facilitated by Kelly Lyn Marquis and WinAll Coaching LLC. It features top dog show professional handlers and is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST via Zoom. The fee for each webinar is $25.00. The purpose of the program is to bridge the gap between professional dog show handlers and junior handlers who aspire to become pros. It provides an opportunity for juniors to get to know handlers on a more personal level, learn unique training tips and methods, and create an open forum for juniors to access the expertise of top professionals nationwide. Junior handlers are typically between 9 and 18 years old.
